About the Science Festival
In 2012 The Edinburgh International Science Festival dates are the 30th March to the 15th April 2012.
We will offer visitors a chance to meet real scientists from the University of Edinburgh for fun friendly drop in activities on level 2 (1-15th April) and Level 4 (6-10th April) from 10am-4.30pm, as well as a programme of workshops and shows (many are free) at the National Museum of Scotland. The drop ins are for all ages, but some activities are unsuitable for very young children.

Make pop-ups - ingenious engineering mechanisms where flat cardboard shapes spring into exciting 3D models.

Life Through a Lens
Travel back through time to meet the first scientists, get hands-on with microscopes and make your own scientific discoveries!

Dr Bunhead's Bigger Bang Theory
In the beginning was the word, and the word was BANG! TV's most extreme scientist, Dr Bunhead, investigates the science of bangs, burps and whooshy bits. Audience volunteers help launch rockets, blow up Barbie and detonate Sponge Bob Rectangle Pants.
